Fixed width as opposed to delimited Is it possible to sort files that are a fixed width format? I'm imagining this working similar to the "Separated Values/Sort" menu.
I only see tab, comma and user specified delimited. Is there anyway to do similar sorting? Or could it be a future enhancement perhaps? It would be a problem in how would the user specify the widths of each column. Thanks, -Jason |

Re: Fixed width as opposed to delimited Unfortunately, there is no option like fixed width format. This might be a feature request. Just to remind you, the Sort feature can be used in any text files, not limited to CSV, TSV or DSV. If first x-column characters are the same across the entire document, you can still use the Sort feature for the entire document. If this is not the case, you might want to write a macro for this purpose. Please let me know if I can help you with writing such a macro. Thanks!

Re: Fixed width as opposed to delimited Interesting, I did not realize that. I believe that will accomplish what I am looking to do.
Thanks Yut! |
