Customize Menu: New Command Category "Load Macro" I like the way to add an macro to the menu. But why i have to add an macro first to "My Macros"? If i have the macro already in My Macros i wouldn't need them in an second menu. And MyMacros gets full to much that way. I want to suggest an new category "Load Macro" which is limited to load macros only from an sub folder "Macros" of the program folder. (That way we didn't need to store an path too and also do not need an Browse... button) If i select the category "Load Macro" i would see the files from that Macros sub folder in the commands list. . |

I had that again. I wanted to add a macro to an menu but could that only with macros listed in My Macros. Why? Why can i not just select a macro from an folder? . |

Re: Customize Menu: New Command Category "Load Macro" Hi Stefan,
You can organize My Macros contents from the Customize Macros dialog - My Macros tab. It should be easy enough to work around. I need to keep all compatibilities between old and new versions, and I don't want to make EmEditor too complicated because it will end up being too bloated. I hope you understand. Thanks!

Re: Customize Menu: New Command Category "Load Macro" .
Thanks for answers. But it seems i don't get it. Hi Yutaka, i know i can organize My Macros contents from the Customize Macros dialog - My Macros tab. Thank you. My point is that i do not understand why i have to add a macro to My Macros first, if i just want to add a macro to a menu? e.g. I utilize "Tools > Customize Menu..." and want to add a macro. But for "Command" i can only chose a macro from My Macros. So i have to first add my macro to My Macros. This way i have the macro two times; one time in My Macros and one time in my menu. The same suggestion for "Tools > Properties > [Keyboard]" to assign a keyboard shortcut to a macro. Why do i have to add a macro first to My Macros? That is why i asked to utilize a macro even it is not in My Macros but directly from folder. Advantage: 1.) The My Macros list is not filled with unwanted items. 2.) I save an step for adding a macro to an menu or assign an hotkey. YE> I need to keep all compatibilities between old and new versions, OK, i understand that. But just an additional "Select Macro from folder..." item in the dialogs can not be that evil? Or would it break that much the concept? Or can we organize macros in sub-folders? So that the sub folders are shown in the My Macro menu too? . |

Re: Customize Menu: New Command Category "Load Macro" Hello,
It is just the way EmEditor was designed. If you need to add a macro to a menu, you will first include the macro to My Macros, and then add the macro to the menu. Adding another command like "Select Macro from folder..." item will cause a lot to change, actually. It is hard to describe, but please understand that it will add a lot of code to the existing code base. Thanks!
