Fill column of text
Hi,
I'm currently looking at EmEditor and Textpad. The one advantage, important to me, that Textpad seems to have is the ability to work with a column of text. For example, I can highlight a column of text then fill it with characters or a sequence of numbers.

Is this possible with EmEditor?

Regards-Michael G.

Not that I know of. However I have written a collection of macros that does what you want and more. I'm trying to clean it up and post it some time.

You can select a column of text with EmEditor. However, it is not easy to replace the column portion with a certain text. This is an area that I want to improve in future versions. Thanks!

I use Textpad a lot and I thought it had all the features I required except the one you refer to. (I used to use this with IBM's PE2, many moons ago)

What keystrokes are required to achieve the column fill?
What version of Textpad are you using?
