Re: Loading large files - memory and speed Thanks!
Maybe you should include this tip in the help section on how to speed up opening of very large files. Some of us consider files over 100 MB very large ![]() Regards Frode |

Re: Loading large files - memory and speed You will notice a difference when EmEditor opens a larger file. If you open a file smaller than 300MB, EmEditor tries to load all the file content to memory, and so it consumes more memory. If you open a file larger than 300MB, EmEditor uses less memory. This threshold (300MB) can be customized via Customize dialog > Advanced tab.

Loading large files - memory and speed Hi
When I load a 155 MB XML file in EmEditor, It takes between 15 and 30 seconds, and EmEditor uses 528 MB RAM. This is far from the results presented on the New Features page of version 7. Could there be something wrong in my installation? I've tried the same file in EditPad Pro, and it took 7 sec. and used 125 MB RAM. EmEditor 9.08 32bit, Intel Pentium 2,0 GHz, 1GB RAM. Regards Frode |
