I guess you opened your UTF-8 file as Western European encoding. You have to open a UTF-8 as Unicode (UTF-8) encoding. If you use Windows Vista/7, there should be no problem with fonts, but on earlier Windows, you will need to select a correct font to display all characters correctly.

I'm not even sure if it is possible to display multiple glyph-languages at the same time. Many fonts have language specific versions, eg: Droid Sans, Droid Sans Arabic, Droid Sans Hebrew, Droid Sans Thai.

As well I don't believe I've seen an editor of any type that can load multiple fonts at the same time (on the fly) in order to display disparate characters. Notepad++ I believe can use different fonts at the same time for Syntax-Highlight but that's an entirely different matter.

Please consider the text below. The editor is displaying certain characters as boxes and others as russian. I am trying to understand how this happen. Is my encoding set wrong somewhere? The text is showing properly in this posting, but when you cut and paste it into the editor it does not show properly.
