Do you really need an context menu? With XYplorer you have several possibilities to call EmEditor with one or all selected files: * from an button * from the catalog on the left * from User Menu Open selected item(s) with:..\EmEditor\EmEditor.exe * via an shortcut e.g.: Shift+E * via Portable File Association by double clicking an file directly * via Portable File Association by opening an context menu first +|"Open with &EmEditor " *>"..\EmEditor\EmEditor.exe" or +|"Open with &EmEditor " txt;log;cpp;h>"..\EmEditor\EmEditor.exe" . |

Re: Register both 32- as well as 64-bit shell extensions Hi,
You can install the 32-bit version of EmEditor on your 64-bit Windows. I hope this helps. Thanks!

I'm currently running 11.1.9 beta x64 on Windows 7 x64 SP1; unfortunately, XYplorer doesn't show EmEditor's entry in its context menu, unlike Windows Explorer (64-bit). |

Register both 32- as well as 64-bit shell extensions I'm currently running a 32-bit file manager (XYplorer) on the 64-bit version of Windows 7, which means that EmEditor's 64-bit shell extension isn't available.
As EmEditor's 32-bit shell extension is already available for the 32-bit version, would it be possible to include and register both the 32- as well as 64-bit shell extensions, when installing the 64-bit version? It would aid users of file managers that are (for now) stuck without a native 64-bit version (FreeCommander is another one). P.S.: 1. I am aware of several good file managers that do have 64-bit versions, but I simply prefer XYplorer to them. 2. The SendTo-shortcut is a workaround, but is also an additional and less discoverable (not visible in the main context menu) click. |
