EmEditor v26.2.1 Released

EmEditor v26.2.1 is now available. This release focuses on stability and includes the fixes and improvements listed below. We recommend updating to the latest version for the best experience.

• MSIX versions are now available through both direct download and the Microsoft Store.
• Fixed an issue where search highlighting did not work after reloading a file.
• Fixed a potential crash that could occur when opening more than 2,000 files with line wrapping enabled.
• Improved performance when opening many files from the command line.
• The new versions skip the InstallTypeLibrary call during MSI installation.
• Fixed an issue that prevented Properties for All Configurations from being selected after using Reset All Settings.
• Fixed a phantom taskbar icon that appeared when selecting Edit with EmEditor from the Windows 11 context menu.
• Fixed a printing color issue when Windows dark mode is enabled.
• Reduced errors that could occur while verifying digital signatures when loading files.
• EmEditor will no longer load itself or DLL files unless they are digitally signed by Emurasoft, Inc.
• Fixed a potential out-of-memory crash when using Select All.
• Fixed an issue on the Toolbar Buttons page of the Customize dialog box.
• Disabled double-clicking on the AutoRepeat handle.

If you use the Desktop Installer edition, select Help > Check for Updates to update EmEditor. If the update does not work, please download the latest version and run the installer manually.

The Microsoft Store version is expected to become available within the next few days. If you download the MSI file directly, please verify that its digital signature is signed by Emurasoft, Inc.
