Access denied when trying Check for updates

I’m using v 19.9.1.
Both with this and the previous minor version when I ask it to check for updates I get an Access Denied message.
I upgraded to 19.9.1 by downloading the installer from the site.
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit v 1909 OS Build 18363.900

Please check #15 of FAQ: /support/#faq

If the Check for Updates fails, select Customize Update Checker on the Help menu, and make sure the Download Folder specifies a writable folder. The default is C:\ProgramData\Emurasoft\EmEditor\updates.
