Close documents inconsistent behaviour

In the document listing plug-in…

1) There are two files listed as being open. I right-click on one and select Close. The file closes.
2) I right-click on the one remaining open file and select Close the Document listing pane closes, not the file.

This is inconsistent. It should close the file and open an untitled document as happens if I close the single open document using the X on its tab.
