EmEditor Professional v10 RC 2 (9.90.11) is available for download.

This release fixes several critical bugs found in RC 1.

It is recommended that you uninstall previous v9 before you install a new version.

This RC version requires you to enter a registration key for v10. Please go to Emurasoft Customer Center https://www.emurasoft.com/support/ , Purchase History to request a new registration key for v10.

This version expires on May 31, 2010. Before this date, you will need to update to then newer version, or purchase the release version.

Supported OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP SP2 or later/Server 2008/Server 2003

The portable version can be produced from the Import/Export wizard on the Tools menu after you use the installer. However, the portable version runs slower than the one using the Registry.

When I’m performing a rectangular selection, it looks as a dotted rectangle (that’s the style I set for it) with selected text inside it. However, as soon as I release the mouse button, it is transformed into set of lines each of which has its own bounding rectangle (drawn as a solid gray line). Is it intentional? If yes, how can I modify the style of this resultant selection? I failed to find the appropriate item in the list of color items.

Thank you for trying EmEditor Professional v10 RC 2!
There was a bug when drawing rectangular. I am fixing this for the next minor version RC3.

Dear Yukata,

I’m having some trouble with keyboard accessibility in two places:
1. the installer doesn’t respond to Alt+a to accept the license agreement;
2. the update checker, when completed, displays a dialog box with an OK button. This button is not selected by default, necessitating an additional tab before Enter closes the dialog box.

In an unrelated request, could an option be added to the installer to *not* create a desktop icon with this selection being persisted like other options? BTW, the beta installers remembered selections; the RC installers didn’t pick these up.

Thanks for trying EmEditor Professional v10 RC!

I reported these accessibility issues to the Installer developer, so I hope these will be fixed soon.

I will add a feature to select or deselect shortcuts on the Desktop from RC 3.
