This is an updated version of what I’ve already posted as a side note in a different context.

Example with the following find settings
    Find in selection settings

    Select line 2
    Line 2 selected

Find “editor” in the selection → success

Select line 3 without triple-clicking or selecting multiple lines.
    Line 3 selected

Note that EmEditor didn’t clear the old search range (blue background).

Find “editor” in the selection then finds in the old search range!?
    Same find as before.

EmEditor clears the old search range (blue background) when triple clicking or selecting more than one line.
To me it would make more sense when EmEditor would clear the old search range (blue background) as soon as one makes a new selection.

The previous requirement to select multiple lines before clearing the search range was intentional. However, I will modify this behavior as per your request in the next update.
