    This message contains changelog regarding v25.3 preview. The information is being updated as more preview versions are released.

    To update

    If you use the installer version, please select Customize Update Checker on the Help menu, and set the Include preview versions in order to update automatically to future preview versions. Preview versions can also be downloaded at Previous versions.

    preview 1 (25.2.901) – July 30, 2025

    – The latest version lets you use special keywords in regex highlight strings to set additional conditions, like (?#_text_c!=17). For more details, visit https://www.emeditor.com/forums/topic/emeditor-syntax-highlighter-overlap-conflict-when-using-regex-quantifiers/.
    – An asterisk (*) will now appear next to the page title in the Customize dialog box to show that the options have been changed from their default settings.
    – Resolved an issue that prevented notification options from being saved in the portable version.

    – Fixed issues of preview 1.

    – Added the Sort by Similarity command.

    preview 4 (25.2.904) – August 11, 2025

    – Fixed a rare issue that could cause EmEditor to crash when a Unicode character was included in the search string for Find in Files.
    – Improved cursor placement after sorting.
    – The Extract Frequent Strings command now works on the filtered content when filters are applied.
    – Corrected the word count display in the status bar.
    – Fixed an issue where copying a line could fail if a string was inserted after opening a blank file.
    – Added new HTML features to the Markdown toolbar, which has been redesigned as the Markdown/HTML toolbar. The previous HTMLBar plugin has been discontinued.
    – Added support for gpt-5.

    – Improved the speed of the Extract Frequent Strings command.
    – Fixed a crash in Coinfiguration Properties in preview 6.

    preview 8 (25.2.908) – August 19, 2025

    – Changed the default max_tokens to null.
