How can I insert Symbols, like the paragraph mark, into a text file I am editing

How can I insert Symbols, like the paragraph mark, into a text file I am editing?
For example, here are the codes for a paragraph mark:
Unicode hex code Symbol Symbol
00b6 ¶ ¶
00a7 § ¶
Is there a table somewhere with these codes? Are there shortcuts for inserting the codes. I’m sure this is easy but I’m not finding it. (I’ve looked and not seen it.)

Please try CTRL + SHIFT + I, or select Edit menu > Advanced > Insert Special Character.
