    Hi,
I want to add an icon to the Emeditor entry in the context menu in Windows Explorer. For all file types.

    See image.
    image host

I have – for some reasons and I don´t want to change – EmEditor Professional (32-bit) Version 14.3.0 running on Windows 11 Professional (x64) Build 22621.819.

I tried several entries in registry / shell with “C:\Windows\emeditor.ico” like described here:
    https://www.winhelponline.com/blog/add-icon-to-right-click-menu-windows-7/

But no success. Maybe I didn´t get the right place for the entries.

    Anyone here who can help?

    Thanks!

The best way to do what you desire is to put an EmEditor shortcut in the Windows “SendTo” folder.and EmEditor will give you the option of opening the file as ASCII or binary. Not sure why you would want to put a static menu entry for all file types in all context menus but you would want to modify the File Context | Folder Context [HKCR\Directory] | Drive Context [HKCR\Drive] and Desktop [HKCR\Folder\shell] context registry keys. Good luck.
