I do not know whether it is a bug in the EmEditor core or in its plugin engine or even it is possibly a defect in the highlighter definition (I just cannot dedicate time learning it), but I’ll post here this as my question to rule out any doubt:
When I write SQL code in EmEditor I get no strings highlighted if they span more than one line and this is misleading developing code like that.
I am showing examples next here for SQL Server Management Studio https://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/221/sqlcodeinssms.png/ that does this properly versa EmEditor https://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/715/sqlinemeditor.png/ that unfortunately does not.January 4, 2013 at 4:15 am #10709
Please check the “Continue to Next Line” check box on the Highlight (2) tab of configuration properties. Should this be checked by default?
Thanks!January 4, 2013 at 10:06 am #10711
Oh my God! Yes, yes, yes!!! By all means!
It is unbelievable how much grief I suffered because I didn’t understand this feature…January 4, 2013 at 2:11 pm #10714
I say yes.
But in what languages keeping the “Continue to Next Line” setting does not make sense I am curious?
Let’s apply the laws of democracy, if in most languages this setting does not make sense then let’s keep it as is, but I doubt this is the case.
