I just downloaded and installed this update to see the lower left text descriptions going completely insane with random scrolling that is unreadable until it eventually stops. This same behavior happens each time you mouse over a menu item.
If you are talking about the status bar, it shows the toolbar button description when you hover the mouse pointer to any button. This was a new feature requested by LTT: https://www.emeditor.com/forums/topic/show-description-in-status-bar-for-a-toolbar-button/

I couldn’t reproduce the issue. Can you please export all your settings, reset all settings, and try again?
I reset setting, allowed emeditor to restart, and the issue was present right after restart.
I used ashampoo uninstaller to perform a full uninstall along with complete registry cleanup.
I reverted to version 21.4.1 to install; however, it won’t install into C:\Program Files as I had always installed it. There is no way to do this now.
I instead installed version emed64_16.4.1.exe to C:\Program Files as I wanted. After that, I launched emed64_21.4.1.msi to upgrade to version 21.4.1.
The issue does not exist under 21.4.1, and it works perfectly as expected.Which version of Windows are you using? Can you try a different computer if possible?
As for the installation folder, please refer to FAQ #21 https://www.emeditor.com/support/#faqI only own a single computer and no others. This is 64-bit Windows 10 Professional.
I also use emeditor under VMWare Workstation, and this same issue exists under my virtual machines. This would count as a different computer.version 21.5.1 also shares this same issue. I attempted to update to it to face the same problem. I will again revert to version 21.4.1
I just downloaded and installed version emed64_21.5.0.msi. This version does not face this issue, so it was newly introduced in version 21.5.1 and higher.
21.5.0 is the highest version I am able to use with no issues. Some changes in version 21.5.1 introduced this.My post above was incorrect. I re-opened a file under version 21.5.0 to see the same issue. It looks like it started with 21.5.0.
I removed my youtube video, because I inadvertently left personal content in it. I recreated it moments ago to show the issue:
