EmEditor Professional 8.00 beta 1 is available for download. Updates from alpha 11 include:

– Improved vertical selection editing (box-editing) feature (Backspace, Undo).
– Fixed other bugs.

The portable version can be produced from the Import/Export wizard on the Tools menu after you use the installer. However, the portable version runs slower than one using the Registry.

I have a bit tested new emeditor 8 beta and I can say that emeditor is very good text editor.

Some things to improve:

1. Founded large path & file names are wrapped to two lines in the not adjustable output window of “search in files”.
These wrapped large path & file names do not support usual action on mouse click.

Maybe that output window is not adjustable to fit large row of output without wrapping generally. Are there some options to set behavior (related to wrapping of output text row) of output window ?

2. I do not found option “Move to start/end of document” in the replace box of emeditor.

Check “Dotted Focused Lines” in the Scroll tab of Configuration Properties (even if “Horizontal/Vertical Line” is not checked).

It means that this is by design. We thought empty lines don’t need indent guides.

I think it would be preferable for an option to toggle the display of indent guides on empty lines. :-)
