We are releasing beta versions (v11.1 or later) more frequently than before as “head-start” versions. If you would like to try new features sooner than regular released updates, please use these head-start versions. However, if you would like stable versions, please use the release version at the Download page.

Today, we are releasing EmEditor Professional v11.1.6 beta.

    Updates from v11.1.5 beta include:

    NEW FEATURES

    – “Clear All Bookmarks in This Group”, “Invert Bookmarks in This Group”, “Delete Bookmarked Lines in This Group”, “Back”, and “Forward” commands were added.

    – “Back” and “Forward” toolbar buttons were added.

    === To Download ===

If you are already using v11.1.x beta, you can Check for Updates on the Help menu to download the update. If you are still using the released version, this new beta version will not be checked automatically from the EmEditor update checker. However, once you install this beta version, new future beta versions will be checked automatically.

Please click one of the links below to download:

    http://www.emeditor.com/pub/emed32_11.1.6_beta.exe (32-bit installer)
    http://www.emeditor.com/pub/emed64_11.1.6_beta.exe (64-bit installer)
    http://www.emeditor.com/pub/emed32_11.1.6_beta_portable.zip (32-bit portable)

The portable version runs more slowly than the one using the Registry, and some features including the update checker are disable for the portable version. We recommend the installers, and not the portable version.

The portable version can be created by installing using the installer, and selecting “Import and Export” on the “Tools” menu, and “Set up a removable drive such as a USB drive with default settings”.

    Notes:

Only English, Japanese, and Korean user interfaces are up-to-date.

Explorer windows may be automatically closed during the upgrade install.

The registration key for v11 is the same as the key for v10. If you are a registered user of EmEditor Professional v10 or v11, you can have your registration key resend at: https://www.emurasoft.com/support/send_keys.php

The release version of this beta will be v12, and the registration key will be different from v11. Unless you have registered your licenses at Emurasoft Customer Center before November 1, 2011 or have subscribed Premium Support, you will need to purchase an upgrade when v12 is released. The v12 release date is not decided, but the release target is around September 2012.

Thank you for using EmEditor Professional!

I really love Bookmark support improvements! just few more features to make it great :-)

    1. Please add Copy/Cut Bookmarked Lines feature

    2. Toggle Bookmark (Ctrl-F2) should affect ALL selected lines (not just the line with cursor)

    Other:
3a. Cut/Copy Append Selection to Clipboard
3b. Cut/Copy Append Bookmarked Lines to Clipboard

And one more I’ve asked for before:

    4. The “Marks” Toggle should toggle ALL marks, not just New Line and Tab

    Thanks,
    Chris

    1. When the Find dialog is in foreground, pressing F3 performs the search twice, so the selection jumps to the second occurrence instead of the nearest one.

    2. EE of versions 11.1.x crashes quite often here. What should I do to help you fix it? Just quote you the crash messages with the addresses? Unfortunately, I failed to find any pattern for reproducability of the crashes, all they occur at an absolutely arbitrary moment, different each time… :-(

My OS here is XP SP3 32-bit, EE 11.1.6.

    Hello Flint,

I reproduce the issue of the Find dialog, and I have fixed it for the next beta version.

I don’t know why the crash happens. Please try disabling all plug-ins. If you still see the issue without any known conditions, you might want to send the information to Microsoft when the crash prompts you to send the information to Microsoft. Later, I can retrieve the information from Microsoft.

    Thank you!

    Hi Flint,

Try App Crash View, which should give you crash reports:

    OK, I’ll do that.

Unfortunately, it does not work in WinXP.

I also like the bookmark improvements, including extraction of bookmarked lines. However, I’m hoping that this bookmark extraction isn’t a substitute for the improved text extraction capability that I suggested here (ie. incremental matching/output in Output Bar, find/replace regex (so the extracted text can be manipulated through a replacement regex), output to new document etc.)

This is my number one most hoped for addition to EmEditor!
