How can I input a Unicode character by its standard hexadecimal number (like U+2615, “hot beverage”)?

    Hello,
By default, you can press CTRL + SHIFT + I, or select the Edit menu – Advanced – Insert Special Character.

Thanks. I saw that command. But it appears only to insert a few characters from the beginning of the Unicode characters, specifically from U+0000 through U+017E. That leaves most of Unicode excluded, if I understand how this dialog box works. For example, how would I add character U+12111 (Cuneiform sign Gish) to a file? My original question includes another example which seems impossible to insert.

Thank you! This works perfectly. The limited menu confused me.
To make this easier to use, I would move Insert Special Character right under Menu > Edit, so I don’t have to remember the keystroke.
