Opt out of the new-document-title sequential numbers?

Hello Yutaka,

v16.0 added sequential numbers to new document titles. I understand that this feature may be immensely useful, but is it possible to opt out? As an old user since v4, I’ve been too accustomed to the plain old look.

For comparison, Sublime doesn’t use these numbers while VSCode does. So this is just a matter of taste and hopefully there is an option for it. Thanks.

Yes, I will probably add the option on the next version (v17.0).

EmEditor is lightning fast to start up, but it has been my old habit to keep several tabs always open as an instant scratchpad.

Admittedly, it’s joyful to know a total of 124 new documents has been created during 8 hours of work, but sooner or later this will become distracting… :)

v17.1.0 beta 4 added the Add a Sequential &Number to Untitled Document Name check box in the New File Details dialog box (configuration properties – File page – New Files button).
