After testing, the problem occurs if one of these two plugins is installed.

This option allows you to copy the selection automatically to the Clipboard without selecting the Copy command (CTRL + C). While the Auto Copy mode is on, the selection will be copied to the Clipboard immediately before the selection is deselected or deleted, immediately before the active document is switched, or the editor loses the keyboard focus.I wait for 10 minutes and then shut down the computer, and I use portable version with all default settings to reproduce the issue.
After several tests, I think this problem start since v18.5.0 or v18.5.91.1. Find “ABC”
2. Select “Escape Sequence”
3. Replace with “ABC\n”
v18.4.0, total 100,000 strings were replaced in 0.078 seconds.

The progress dialog box did not appear.Windown 10 system can use “End task” via task manager, but Windows 8.1 have to force shut down the computer.
Another problem, here is an example to reproduce this issue:
Text file: 1 line “ABC” x 100,000 times = ABCABCABCABC….
1. Find “ABC”
2. Select “Escape Sequence”
3. Replace with “ABC\n”
Windown 8,1 system will be no response unless force shut down the computer (press the Power button for a few seconds).If select “Regular Expressions”, it is OK.
It seems the “Advanced Filter dialog box” use the same hint message.
Now the “Advanced Filter dialog box” will show “Paste multi line text here, or click ‘Add to batch’ ”
But it don’t have the “Add to batch” button.Update, use Ctrl+I(Character Code value) on any characters will be crashed after EmEditor v20.0.904…
I can reproduce the issue with Win7 64bit and Emed64 v17.7.92(or later) ~ v19.
1. Open a 100 lines text file with maximum window.
2. Enable DirectWrite.
3. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and then press ESC to switch back.
4. Use mouse wheel to scroll down, you will see the “black” block.Emed64 v17.7.91 or earlier is OK.
Windows 10 64bit have the same problem, it not only related to font size change, but also affected by “Wrap by Window”
“Character Space” is set to 0.If “Character Space” try to use 2, still have problem.
Some of words space will become bigger, but some of words space is correct.
Win 7 64bit, did not use DirectWrite.
