How do I resolve an invalid registration key error with “machine ID mismatched” message?

The status text “Validation failed: machine ID mismatched” may appear if you copied all EmEditor registry values to a different computer. To resolve this issue, follow these steps.

1. Close EmEditor. Open Registry Editor and go to the folder “Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\EmSoft\EmEditor v3\Common”
2. Right-click, then delete the registry entry “LocalDeviceToken” as shown in the screenshot
   
3. Open EmEditor, go to Help > Registration Information. Verify that you are not registered.
4. In Registration Information, click on Sign In/Enter Registration Key and complete registration again.
