That indeed clears the problem, thank you!

For clarity’s sake, I was under the impression that this setting only had to do with the amount the window scrolls when using the scroll wheel, and didn’t have a bearing on the display of the relevant scroll bar regardless of scroll position?

    Hi,

Did you try the latest beta version at

    http://www.emeditor.com/modules/newbb/viewforum.php?forum=12 ?

    Thanks!

I’m currently running 11.1.9 beta x64 on Windows 7 x64 SP1; unfortunately, XYplorer doesn’t show EmEditor’s entry in its context menu, unlike Windows Explorer (64-bit).

10.1.1 fixes this again. Thank you!

This version solves the last quibble I had regarding keyboard accessibility (previously, the Help > Check for Updates dialog box didn’t have the Ok button focused, necessitating pressing tab before being able to close the dialog box by pressing Enter).

    Thank you very much.

I’m happy to report that the installer’s inability to select Accept by way of Alt+A has been fixed. Unfortunately, when selecting Help > Check for Updates, the OK button still isn’t selected thereby necessitating pressing Tab before Enter will close the dialog box. I appreciate that it’s a minor issue, but perhaps something for a service release?

    Thank you.

@MariaK: According to the change log in the opening post, support for Windows 2000 has been dropped. Windows 2000 was probably the last Windows version to use that kind of button.

    Dear Yutaka,

Thank you for the update. I’m slightly confused: the Check for Updates dialog box is part of EmEditor itself, isn’t it?

    Thank you.

    Dear Yutaka,

Thank you very much for making the desktop icon creation, optional.

With regard to keyboard access and default buttons, the following items remain:
    – the installer does not support pressing Alt+a to select Accept in the license agreement screen;
    – Help > Check for updates: the OK button isn’t focused by default, necessitating an additional Tab before Enter will close the dialog box.

    Thank you.

    Dear Yukata,

I’m having some trouble with keyboard accessibility in two places:
    1. the installer doesn’t respond to Alt+a to accept the license agreement;
    2. the update checker, when completed, displays a dialog box with an OK button. This button is not selected by default, necessitating an additional tab before Enter closes the dialog box.

In an unrelated request, could an option be added to the installer to *not* create a desktop icon with this selection being persisted like other options? BTW, the beta installers remembered selections; the RC installers didn’t pick these up.

    Thank you.

    Dear Yutaka,

Thank you very much for the improved installer that remembers the installation options chosen. The one thing that currently isn’t optional is the creation of a desktop shortcut. I fully understand why that is the default, but could you make that an option as well?

    Thank you.

    Dear Yutaka,

Thank you very much for implementing multiple zones in the print header and footer; it works a treat.

Just in case you missed it in the previous thread, can I ask for an Apply button in big dialogue boxes like Tools > Customize and Tools > Properties.

    Thank you.

    Hello Yutaka,

Thank you for accepting my feature request. If I can make one more: could you provide an Apply button to large dialogue boxes like Tools > Properties and Tools > Customization? I regularly need to make several changes and find myself pressing OK in between to preserve the changes in case I make a mistake later on.

    Thank you.

    Yutaka:

I had Tools > Properties for All Configurations > Spelling > Check Spelling disabled; enabling this does populate the list in context menu > Dictionaries. I hadn’t changed this myself, apparently this is the default. I hadn’t caught this earlier as enabling context menu > Check Spelling did trigger the spell check.

Can I also add the following feature request:

EmEditor currently doesn’t support multiple zones in headers and footers by using alignment. This would allow for instance having the file name aligned to the left side with the page numbers aligned to the right, with the possibility to include other information centered in the header of footer.

There is currently the possibility to align the header or footer to the center or the right, but this applies to the entire header or footer: information entered before &r or &c is also thus aligned.

Many apps support three areas by alignment in headers or footers (IE, Firefox, Word, etc.). I’d think it an improvement for the printing functionality of EmEditor.

    Thank you.

I have now (I didn’t see this in the beta announcement by the way) and unfortunately it makes no difference.

    EmEditor x64 9.90.2
    Windows 7 x64 RTM.

I’m unfortunately still not seeing any options in context menu > Dictionaries, having tried both Dutch as well as German dictionaries. Contrary to the screenshot in the beta announcement, I’m not even seeing en_US in this list although spell-checking English text does work.

Just to be sure I made no mistake with installation: is it enough to copy nl_NL.aff and nl_NL.dic to C:Program FilesEmEditorDictionaries or are additional steps required?

I’m unable to get the 64-bit version of 9.90.1 to use additional dictionaries. According to the instructions, I downloaded the Dutch dictionary from the OpenOffice.org wiki and copied the *.dic and *.aff files into C:Program FilesEmEditorDictionaries. It doesn’t show up however, in context menu > Dictionaries.

Also, can I ask whether the feature request made here can be considered for inclusion in 10.0?

    Thank you.

By way of additional feature request, currently there isn’t a 64-bit compatible spelling plugin. It would be great if the 64-bit edition of EmEditor would have a spelling plugin as well.

    Thank you.

I’d like that too; both PSPad as well as UltraEdit show the ASCII as well.

Thank you for the new beta and the included sort functionality! Unfortunately, the following seems not to be currently available:
    – The ability to sort just the current selection instead of the whole file.
    – When printing headers and/or footers, the ability to have multiple elements (for example, one left aligned and one right aligned) in the same header or footer. By way of example: “&f &r &p of &a” (minus the quotes) leads to both the file name and page numbers to be right aligned instead of the file name to the left edge and the page number to the right.
    – A spelling check plug-in or built-in functionality for the 64-bit version.

    Thank you.

(This is a repost of my reply to the first beta. Apologies if you did spot my first reply.)
