Suggest to add an option “Maximum File Size to Show Markers __ MB“.
For example: 50 MB, if file size larger than 50 MB, it will disable the Markers on Vertical Scroll Bar.

Now I found the root cause…
Vertical Scroll Bar default setting is “Display Only when Necessary”.
Minimap check box default setting is “unchecked”.

If “Minimap check box” is checked, and the text lines is smaller than one screen page to display “Vertical Scroll Bar”, above problem will happen.
If “Minimap check box” is checked, and “Vertical Scroll Bar” setting is “Always Display”, above problem will not happen, it will display “Minimap” at right side.
If “Minimap check box” is checked, and “Vertical Scroll Bar” setting is “Nothing
“, above problem will not happen, “Wrap by Window” will work correctly, without “Minimap”.

The expected action is suggest to display the “Minimap” once the “Minimap check box” is checked, even user just edit a small html file.
Or suggest not keep so many spaces at the “Wrap by Window” right side, when the “Minimap” is not yet display.

Fresh v17.1.0 beta 1 portable,
The “Encoding list box” will not show “Confidence” column by default.
If adjust “Confidence” column by manual, close and then launch EmEditor, it still can not show “Confidence” column.
If enlarge the “Detect All Result dialog box” width, close and then launch EmEditor, it will show “Confidence” column.

The “Paste Recent” command is even better than macro, because it can use Shortcut to select which item for paste.
But it can not set hotkey directly, after study, I got workaround solution:
1. Use Customize Menus, specify “Paste Recent” command in “User Menu (2)”.
2. Set hotkey for “User Menu (2)”.

Hope it can set hotkey for “Paste Recent” command in the future.

Finally, I found the simple duplicate method, please ignore above steps.

1. Launch EmEditor
2. Click menu Help – Keyboard map – Keyboard properties
3. Click on the any EmEditor edit area (outside of dialog box)
4. Crash (100%)

After test several times again, step 1~4 can be skipped.
Just need step 5~8 to reproduce this crash.
Tested on Win 7 64 bit and Win 10 64 bit.

In Find dialog, Click > button, try to use “Selected Text” or “Last Used Value” or “Fixed Value”.
Default setting is “Selected Text or Word at Cursor”.

Step 5~6 still have problem, and the new added “Clear History dialog box” have similar symptom.

step a. Click “Clear History…” button. (The cursor should stay on the 1st item “Recently used files,…”
step b. Check/uncheck the check box on the front of the “Recently used files,…”
The [Enable/Disable All] check box will be synchronized…

Refer to help file for “Customize dialog box” and “Clear History dialog box”

Enables or disables selected items on the list. 

Suppose current “Enable/Disable All” function, was “Enable/Disable Selected Items” function.
But help file did not change accordingly.

“Symbol List” drop-down list box is come from Projects plugin or SymbolList macro.
Change the Toolbars “Drop-down List Font” will not effect “Symbol List” macro drop-down list box.

BTW, suggest also add “Specify the Drop-down List Font SIZE” function.

Another problem is, from v17.0.0 beta 1, menu Macros -> Customize… -> Customize Macros dialog box -> Add
Try to add a new macro, ex.delBlankLines.jsee

The file name (delBlankLines) will not display on “Macros Toolbar” immediately. Until close and launch EmEditor several times.
If v17.0.0 beta 1 use menu Macros -> Select…, this is ok, it will display on “Macros Toolbar” immediately.
(“Select…” function is select only one item per time.)

And V16.9.3 “Customize Macros dialog box -> Add” is ok.

By the way, from v.16.9.0 “Symbol List” drop-down list box font size is very small, it is not easy to see.

Please try to check “Count Matches check box” in Find dialog.
=> Refer to EmEditor help: If this is checked, EmEditor counts the occurrences of the matched string in the document. The result will be displayed in the status bar.

In EmEditor v17.0.0 beta1, EmEditor portable is still struggle and slow when Launch with very big eeCommon.ini (around 82MB)

My old solution is delete the big eeCommon.ini.
Now, my new workaround solution is use another new EmEditor portable to edit eeCommon.ini, and remove all “^BRP.*\n”.
It works, and also I can keep the other setting in EmEditor portable.

As EmEditor v17.0.0 beta 1 release note mentioned that there are some “Newly added data files”.
Suggest move the “Batch Replace list data” from eeCommon.ini to BatchReplace.bin (for example)
So, the eeCommon.ini will not become very big, and then suppose it will not impact to EmEditor normal operation as well.

Workaround solution: find all “<ap:” replace with”\n<ap:”
EmEditor can handle many lines file easily.

Suppose it is caused by the file with very long(column) text in one line or some lines.

For example:
1,000,000 lines of “0123456789\n” , 12MB,
View “Wrap by Window” => Vertical bar is smooth; Horizontal bar is N/A.
View “No Wrap” => Vertical bar is smooth; Horizontal bar is N/A.

Try to remove all “\n”, it will become 1 line of “012345678901234567890123…..”, 10MB,
View “Wrap by Window” => Vertical bar is not smooth; Horizontal bar is N/A.
View “No Wrap” => Vertical bar is N/A; Horizontal bar is not smooth.
