Compare Documents

EmEditor comes with a compare feature that allows you to view documents side-by-side with synchronized scrolling and highlighted differences.

EmEditor allows you to compare two files with ease. To use this feature, open two documents to compare and go to Compare > Compare … with … The comparison results are color coded within the documents, arranged side by side.

After comparison, the Rescan command allows you to compare modified documents again with the same conditions. The Synchronize Scrolling command scrolls two recently viewed documents synchronously with or without comparison.

You can output the comparison to a file with Compare > Generate Report…. The comparison file shows the differences in table form.
